Q.         What are the age limits for the Junior and Senior Hunter divisions?

A.          Junior Hunter is 15 and younger.
             Senior Hunter is 62 and older.

Q.         Do I have to have my deer scored at an official scoring station if I know someone who is an official scorer for the Texas big Game Awards or a Boone and crocket scorer?
 
A.            Yes, all deer entered into the contest must be scored by an official scorer for the BigBuckBonanza or the tournament director.
 
 
Q.           If I enter a deer that wins a prize, do I have to be at the awards banquet to collect my prize?
 
A.            Yes.  All winners must be present at the banquet to accept a prize.
 
 
Q.           Do I have to enter my own deer in the tournament?
 
A.            Yes.  All contestants must bring their deer in person. They must provide all the information for the deer entered including a photo of the hunter and the deer that was entered.
 
Q.           If I don’t agree with the score taken by the official scorer, can I take it to another scorer?
 
A.            Yes. However it must be taken to another scorer affiliated with the tournament. If you’re not satisfied with that score then you can request a score by the tournament director. That score will be final.
 
Q.           If I enter a deer that could be scored in a typical or non typical class, can I choose which class to enter the deer?
 
A.            Yes. However, once the score sheet is signed by the hunter, it cannot be changed.
 
Q.           Can I enter more than one deer in the tournament?
 
A.            Yes. You can enter up to three deer in the tournament however; they must be taken from different counties designated by the tournament director.
 
Q.           Can I enter a deer that is still in velvet?
 
A.            Yes, but there will be a 3% deduction.
 
Q.           What if I have a deer to enter and I cannot get in touch with a designated scorer?
 
A.            You have 48 hours to contact an official score to make armaments to get the deer to them. If for some reason you can’t get in touch with one, you must call the tournament director. He will make arrangements for the deer to be scored.
 
 
 
Q.           If I have a deer to enter, can I enter it into another contest?
 
A.            Yes but in order for it to enter into the BigBuckBonanza contest; it must be scored by one of our official scorers.


Q.             If a Hunter was born after September 2, 1971, they are  required to have successfully completed a hunter education course Prior to hunting. This includes non residents all well.
 
A.              A hunter can purchase from the Department a one time hunter education referral for $15.00.
