LeAnn Rimes just hours before entering treatment facility -- photo via Daily Mail
Well this is a bit odd.
On Wednesday, after a month of celebrating her 30th birthday, LeAnn checked herself into a 30-day inpatient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress.
Now that's the kind of birthday present I would love to give myself -- 30 days off to relax and deal with stress. I wish.
LeAnn's rep released a statement to head off any rumors that might start after the news hit the web:
"While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms," Pariseau said, adding "while privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
LeAnn told People.com that this is "a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself."
"All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what?" Rimes said. "I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."
I guess it just goes to show you that no matter how much money a person has or how big of a smile a person puts on, we all have demons and issues.
Taylor does have the option of not performing if she chooses, but I have a feeling Taylor would be like Pitbull and just make the best of it. After all, the school is for the hard of hearing too so she could technically just turn the music up.
There are two kinds of country fans -- those who love Tim's song Truck Yeah and those who hate it. A Twitter user decided to take their Truck Yeah confusion straight to the source....the writers, Preston Brust and Chris Lucas from LoCash Cowboys.
Taylor's video for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Togetherdebuts tomorrow on all the various MTV channels (CMT, MTV, VH1), but today we get our very first glimpse of what the video will look like.
Taylor also has a new interview in Rolling Stone magazine's September 13th issue. In it she talks about musical collaborations and love.
"I know general things about love," she says. "How to treat people well, what you deserve and when to walk away. Other than that, love is a complete mystery – and that's why I like to write about it."
She also says about buying a house near the Kennedy family in Massachusetts, "That would be so amazing." Unfortunately that's all she said on that subject, at least that's all that appears online.
Check out the rest of the interview in the September print edition of Rolling Stone or part of it online here.
'Good Morning America' host and country music fan, Robin Roberts, is taking an extended medical leave from 'GMA' for treatment of MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome) starting this Friday and will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant soon after.
To support her friend, Martina McBride will stop by the show tomorrow to talk with Roberts and to sing her wonderful cancer-support song I'm Gonna Love You Through It during the 8 a.m. hour Thursday.
Robin, of course, appeared in the music video for Martina's I'm Gonna Love You after surviving her own bout with breast cancer several years ago.
Martina is also reportedly set to announce a new partnership to help raise breast cancer awareness.
Willie Nelson, it appears, has set himself up to possibly win an Oscar, or at least be nominated for one.
Willie has contributed the song Midnight Run to the upcoming movie 'Lawless' about a bootlegging family, and movie boss Harvey Weinstein is so excited about the song that according to The Huffington Post he's planning on making a big push to get Willie Nelson his first Oscar nomination in the Best Original Song category.
Weinstein is so enthusiastic about the song and Nelson that he plans to push hard for "Midnight Run" to get a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, as well as for the Golden Globe Award in the same category. He noted that Nelson, who turned 79 on April 30, has never been nominated for an Oscar.
"The song's really worthy of it, and I think there's a lot of affection for Willie Nelson," Weinstein explained. "And I think in light of the Academy opening up its doors, the idea of Willie Nelson playing at the Oscars at the age of 80 is just too good to be true."
An Oscar nomination win for Willie would definitely top of an extraordinary career.
Oscar nominations are generally announced in January. 'Lawless' hits theaters this Friday.

Press release:
Jana Kramer’s Top 10 hit single, “Why Ya Wanna,” recently earned Gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) which marks an exciting career first. Kramer was presented with a plaque marking this special accomplishment at Warner Music Nashville’s Pickin’ On The Patio party August 23. “Why Ya Wanna,” which is currently Top 10 and continues to build, ranks as the highest charting female debut since Taylor Swift’s 2006 single “Tim McGraw.”
Kramer has impressively sold over 700,000 single tracks, including over half a million of “Why Ya Wanna.” In addition to having her self-titled debut album premiere at No. 5 on the Top Country Albums Chart, the chart success of “Why Ya Wanna” also makes Kramer the fastest rising debut artist of 2012.
This is pretty cool. Billboard.com just came out with a top 10 list of the most powerful musical couples out there and three of the top 10, including the #1 spot, are country artists.
Couples were ranked based on the pair's combined U.S. album sales from 1991-present, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

JAY-Z & BEYONCE -- 62.3 million copies sold.
TIM McGRAW & FAITH HILL -- Hill and McGraw have moved 60.9 million albums combined.
MARIAH CAREY & NICK CANNON -- combined 54 million copies sold.

For the last week or so Taylor Swift has been getting a lot of grief over the fact that she had purchased a home across the road from her boyfriend's grandmother Ethel Kennedy.
Now comes word that that grief may have been wrongly placed because Taylor may not have even bought the Hyannis Port mansion.
The original report claiming that Taylor had purchased the $4.9 million home had come from People.com and was complete with a quote from a real estate lady who said Taylor had gotten a great deal on the home. However, now comes word from Radar Online who spoke to the real estate agent who reportedly sold the house and he says the property was purchased by a hedge fund manager from New York and that Taylor had no part in it.
However, it turns out that a New York hedge fund manager signed a contract for the house and Swift was never involved, says the real estate agency that DID sell the home!
Paul Grover of Robert Paul Properties revealed the buyer signed the contract for the property at 27 Marchant Ave, Hyannis Port, but the sale isn’t closed yet.
So now we have two dueling gossip reports from two usually reliable sources. I guess you could do eenie meenie miney mo and have a 50/50 shot of picking which is the right one.
In other Taylor and Conor Kennedy news, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Taylor accompanied Conor and some other Kennedy family members to Conor's mom's gravesite last weekend. Conor's mom committed suicide a couple of months ago.
On a side note, is anyone else a little sad that The Wall Street Journal actually reports on Taylor Swift dating news?
Move over Toby Keith because Rascal Flatts are heading into your territory of feeding fans.
It was announced yesterday that the trio will be opening their first restaurant this year with many more to follow in 2013 and 2014.
The boys have partnered with restaurant-industry execs Philip Lama and Eric Soe to create a chain of contemporary restaurants that will also serve as live music venues.
The space, which is anticipated to be 14,000 square feet, will seat 163 guests in both indoor and outdoor areas. There will be an exhibition kitchen, raised lounge, and two full-service bars that can sit up to 144 additional guests. 500 guests will be able to stand in front view of a raised stage containing industry-standard premium audio gear and concert-quality lighting. Performers will also have a green room, dressing rooms, and a VIP lounge within the venue.
The first “RF” restaurant will open in Phoenix this year with additional locations including Washington D.C., Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Raleigh, North Carolina, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Long Island, New York, Charlotte, North Carolina, Tampa, Florida, Boston, Massachusetts, and Madison Wisconsin in 2013 and 2014.
There's trouble brewing in the lipsticked and hairsprayed world of toddler pageants.
Little Madisyn "Maddy" Verst is a now-6-year-old little girl who has appeared on the popular TLC (un)reality show 'Toddlers & Tiaras'. You may remember her even if you don't watch the show because she appeared on the cover of People magazine a while back with the headline "Gone Too Far?"
Well Maddy's mom and dad are currently locked in a custody battle and one of the dad's fuels for his fire is a Dolly Parton costume the little girl wore on the show that featured a padded bra and butt.
A Kentucky court-appointed psychologist is siding with the father, Bill Verst, saying that the child’s participation in beauty pageants, and in particular the Dolly Parton and a "sexy" cop outfit, are damaging to the girl and is recommending that the parents share temporary custody with the father getting primary residential custody.
Lindsay Jackson, the girl's mother, told the media on Saturday, “If [the judge decides] that Maddy needs to live with her dad because she does pageants with me, then that opens the door for any parent to challenge anybody on activity that a kid does, period,” Jackson said. “We could really open up Pandora’s Box to set a precedent all over the world. What if years ago Gabby Douglas’ father said, ‘She’s not going to be a gymnast. She’s not going to move away from home and practice gymnastics because I won’t allow it,’ and he and Gabby’s mother got into a fight? We wouldn’t have gold medal winners, we wouldn’t have Miss America, we wouldn’t have Miss USA.”
Well it's coming folks. Tim McGraw hit the town of Chattanooga, Tennessee on Tuesday to shoot the video for Truck Yeah.
According to Nooga.com, Tim is in the scenic city to shoot the video in an old abandoned building he found himself.
Tuesday afternoon, trucks carrying four-wheelers were being delivered to the former industrial site where the U.S. Pipe and Foundry operated for more than 100 years, presumably for the "muddin'" scenes.
Lights and cameras were set up inside the empty former fittings plant, and actors, extras and crew will be working through Wednesday, sources close to the project said.
All scenes for the "Truck Yeah" video are scheduled to be shot at the Chattanooga site, sources said.
WRCB TV says that a location scout confirmed to them that approximately 50 locals had been hired as extras and there's a helicopter also being used.
Unfortunately, if you have ideas of trying to sneak in to have a looksie at what's going on, the video shoot is taking place on a privately owned street so no fans will be allowed.
No word on when fans can expect the finished video to be released.
Dwight Yoakam is preparing to release 3 Pears, his first new studio album in seven years. Since his last record, the country pioneer has continued to explore soul, folk, pop and rock to further define his Americana spirit. Yoakam produced the entirety of 3 Pears, but he brought in some unexpected help on two tracks: Beck, who co-produced "A Heart Like Mine" and "Missing Heart." "When you sit there with a guy who channels David Bowie meets David Gates meets Jim Morrison, you say 'OK, Beck, if that's your opinion of my electric guitar playing then we'll stay with it,'" Yoakam tells Rolling Stone.
On "A Heart Like Mine," Yoakam reaches for love, reflecting on the inner workings of his heart with yearning calls and an energetic punch. "I tried to encourage him to just let it have his personality and just be what it is," Beck says.

Hunter Hayes is a pretty handy fella with most instruments -- playing every instrument on his debut album and amusing and astonishing fans when he joined Hank Williams Jr. onstage to play Jambalaya on an accordion back when he was only 4 years old -- but there's one instrument that Hunter admits to actually being afraid of....the fiddle.
“I completely failed a couple years ago trying to figure out how to play fiddle,” he admitted. “It is one fretless instrument that I am afraid to touch. I’m afraid to be in a same room as a fiddle. I don’t know, I picked it up and tried it for like months, and then finally realized, ‘You know what, it’s not supposed to happen,’ and I just let it go.” Hunter also says he struggled at steel guitar for a while. “I still do.” Not one to give up too easily though, he told us, “I may try again in the future. I anticipate trying.”
It's country music, man, you gotta have a fiddle in the band -- at least if you play in Texas -- or so says those country wisemen of Alabama.

Wynonna has postponed a series of concerts after her husband Michael Scott "Cactus" Moser, 55, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident late Saturday (Aug. 18) near Hill City, S.D. Moser, who scored four No. 1 country hits in the '80s, as a member of the band Highway 101, plays drums in his wife's band. The couple were riding their Harley-Davidson motorcycles prior to Saturday's scheduled concert at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel and Casino in Deadwood, S.D., when Moser drifted across the center line of the highway and collided with the driver's side door of a Chevrolet Malibu. Wynonna, who was riding ahead of Moser, was not involved in the accident. Moser was transported to an area hospital and is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Saturday's concert was postponed, as well as four other dates scheduled later this week in Canada. "The outpouring of prayer and support from friends, family and fans has been a blessing," she said in a written statement. "Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply, and I will not leave his side." Judd and Moser were married on June 10 at her farm near Nashville.
It was no more than a paragraph. But every word touched my heart and cut to the core. George Jones, my all-time favorite singer and the singer of my all-time favorite song, "He Stopped Loving Her Today," announced his farewell tour for 2013.
"It's tough to stop doing what I love, but the time has come," said Jones in a statement.
His farewell tour is expected to visit 60 cities. In the meantime, he has concerts booked through December of this year, including stops on Aug. 30 in Woodstock, Va., and Aug. 31 in Northampton, Mass.
I'm sure George is doing what he knows is right in his mind. He's given us more than 50 years of beautiful music. He's got the right to rest.
Thanks, George, for the music. And thanks to his wife Nancy for taking care of him and giving him a better life than he'd ever had.
I am a blessed person for the friendship of George and Nancy. Thank you, God, for that gift. For my entire life I have known who George Jones was -- the greatest singer who ever lived.
Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw Break NYC-Area Attendance Record
With 56,285 tickets sold for their concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw's Brothers of the Sun concert broke all-time attendance records for the New York City area. Of course, it's worth noting Kenny broke his own record -- the one he set in 2011 during his Goin' Coastal tour.
And if you aren't proud of that, well, you ain't much of a fan. It takes country music to make the records then break the records in sales and attendance.
Carrie Underwood Makes Canadian Pitch
Before performing at the first-ever Boots and Hearts music festival in Canada, Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher arrived at the Rogers Centre in Toronto via helicopter so she could throw the first pitch before the Blue Jays took on the New York Yankees. The pilot flew Carrie and her hubby all over the area.
Carrie and the incredible Brad Paisley will co-host the 46th annual CMA Awards live from Nashville on Nov. 1 on ABC.
Dierks Bentley Brings Miles & Music for Kids Back to Music City
Good guy Dierks Bentley's Miles & Music for Kids celebrity motorcycle rides and concerts have taken place 12 times in seven cities and raised more than $2 million for Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
"I really want to blow Miles & Music out this year and make it bigger and better than ever," Dierks says. "We've had the chance to help a lot of communities across the country, but the heart and soul of this event is downtown Nashville with the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and the artists and friends who come out and help raise money. It's my favorite thing to do all year."
Thanks, Dierks, for all this.
Keith Urban Hosts Online Tour of Nashville Keith Urban takes viewers around his hometown of Nashville for an episode of Ram Country's Going Home on Yahoo Music. He talks about his first days in Music City, his first gigs in town, his favorite part about creating an album and why Nashville is so special to him.
His first stop is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, where he points out the beauty of the museum and its history. He talks about his We're All for the Hall benefit concerts with Vince Gill and last year's show when he was surprised by being invited to join the Grand Ole Opry. He also visits his favorite live venue, the Ryman Auditorium. The last stop is Blackbird Recording Studio, where he recorded several of his albums. The magical place is owned by Martina and John McBride.
"When I moved to Nashville, it was referred to as the third coast," Keith says. "It has all of this country all around it. But the songwriting has a particular flavor that you don't find anywhere else."

In case you hadn't gotten the chance to hear the story yet, the parents of 6-year-old Harlie Bryant who has been undergoing treatment for brain cancer made a plea on Twitter for Harlie to be able to meet her hero Blake Shelton. After bunches of people caught wind of the Twitter request and retweeted it, Blake eventually heard about it and tweeted back to the family a few weeks ago on July 27:
“My 6yr daughter has brain cancer She wants to meet @blakesheltonat big o fest in Owensboro @HopeForHarlie” Whoa! Let's make this happen!!
The family and Blake have tweeted back and forth a couple of times and this weekend the meeting between Blake and sweet little Harlie finally took place at Owensboro's Big O Music Fest.
After the meeting, Harlie said about meeting Blake, "Well, he went to go see us for a little bit, then we left. It was fun."
Short and sweet. Too cute.

Awww, this is too bad. The Do Something Awards were handed out yesterday in Santa Monica, California and the three country stars that were nominated -- Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Taylor Swift -- unfortunately came away empty handed.

This time it's Willie Nelson who was forced to cancel a fundraising performance in Castle Pines Village, Colorado on Saturday, August 18, due to rumored health problems.
Fred Bartlit, host of the fundraiser called Lulu's Barkin' BBQ, told the Denver Post, "I was told Willie woke up and had trouble breathing, so he was taken to the hospital."
Lulu's Barkin' BBQ was raising money for the Dumb Friends League, a Denver area Humane Society Animal Shelter.
Chris Gallegos, spokesman for the Dumb Friends League did confirm that Willie had cancelled his appearance, but couldn't give a reason due to confidentiality.
I don't usually keep very close track of who hits #1 on the charts because frankly there are too many different charts to keep track of and it really doesn't interest me that much -- but come on, this is Blakey Boy we're talking about, so here ya go, a tweet that was retweeted by Blake last night:
“@BReeves780: OK, Not official til Sunday but Blake's got his 7th #1 record in a row with "Over"! Congrats!” Yeeee Haawww!!!! I love this!!

According to his website, Kix's new single will hit radio September 3.
Penned by Kix with his longtime friends and songwriting buddies (and BMI Country Songwriters of the Year) Rhett Akins and Dallas Davidson, Kix says that “‘Bring It On Home’ is really about a guy just gettin’ back to what matters with love. I always liked the soulful attitude of this song and the kind of natural feelin’.”
Brooks adds that “Bring It On Home” is a song that rings true for him in lyrics like “all my life I’ve been running,” and Kix says, “I’ve been married a long time, but when I met Barbara, I kind of had that feeling, because bein’ a musician and livin’ in bars, it was that point, meetin’ her, when, you know, it’s like, I think I may be ready to give up this lifestyle and try somethin’ that matters a little bit more.”

More than 30,000 people around the world, many of them children, have already received a pair of shoes as the result of the recently released country charity single "The Choice." A who's-who list of 19 major country artists, including Rodney Atkins, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Kellie Pickler, Josh Turner, and Keith Urban, collaborated on the song which benefits the nonprofit organization Soles4Souls.
"When I was approached to contribute vocals on 'The Choice,' I immediately reverted back to my adolescence and when I first heard 'We Are The World' in the '80s. The impact that song and message had worldwide is still incredible," shares Atkins. "Today, we have the opportunity to make an impact on children and adults in a very real way, and I hope people will once again come together to support this song benefitting Soles4Souls."

FGL will join Joe Diffie, Riders In The Sky, John Conlee and Ricky Skaggs, in Friday’s lineup, which begins at 7:00 PM.
You know, there are some people out there who are pretty talented with a marker, but I'm kind of thinking these tattoos that appeared on the Pistol Annies' Twitter Sunday evening are real.
Tattoos aren't for everyone, but there's something totally badass about a group of girls getting semi-matching tattoos to commemorate their awesomeness.
Saturday's sold-out 'Brothers of the Sun' show, with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, at NJ's MetLife Stadium set the record as the largest ticketed country event in NYC/NJ history, with 56,285 tickets sold. Not only is the 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour the biggest tour of 2012 according to Pollstar, but this week it broke the million ticket mark and became the 9th time in 10 years that Chesney's touring resulted in ticket sales of one million or more.
"The excitement and buzz for this show was through the roof since the day it was announced," said Interim MetLife Stadium President Ron VanDeVeen. "We couldn't imagine how last year's 'Goin' Coastal' show could be topped, but this truly was the biggest country show we've ever seen."
Opening with the one-two punch of his #1 single "Beer in Mexico" and "Keg in the Closet," Chesney captivated the audience with a non-stop performance that featured a guest appearance from Grace Potter on "You & Tequila," which Chesney said has grown into one of his favorite songs, and his current single "Come Over," which is #1 on Billboard's Country Songs chart for the second consecutive week. Chesney conveyed his gratitude to the history-making crowd throughout the show, saying how much he had missed NYC and speaking about the commonality between people from all areas.
"I want to thank you for having us back, and thank you for letting us be a part of your summer," Chesney told the crowd. "After tonight we only have four shows left, and we're gonna take this night with us all winter."
With the NFL season just weeks away, Chesney acknowledged the area's deep pigskin divide by holding up a Giants helmet in one hand and a Jets helmet in the other before presenting them to two awe-struck fans pulled onstage from the pit. After a joint encore with Chesney and McGraw that featured all acts joining in on Jackson's Browne's "Running on Empty," everyone in the stadium, whether Jets or Giants fans, left having witnessed a piece of NJ/ NY history.
It looks like Taylor may be more smitten with the Kennedy Clan than people originally thought because girl is reported to have plopped down a cool $4.9 million for the privalege of being near them.
People.com is reporting that Taylor has purchased a house in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts across the street from Ethel Kennedy, Taylor's current boyfriend Conor's grandmother.
According to a realtor that People spoke with, Taylor purchased the 7 bedroom, 5 bathroom, waterfront home just last week for the bargain basement price of $4.9 million. The house was originally listed for nearly $14 million. Pretty good deal!
"It's in a beautiful location and right across the street from Conor and the Kennedys," the realtor told People.com. "It's a beautiful home. She got a nice home, paid fair price. The house was on the market for two to four years."
Wow, buying a multi-million dollar home across the street of the home of your barely-legal boyfriend of under three weeks (that we know of) -- or even just his grandmother -- seems either like true love or true stalker -- wonder which this will turn out to be?
Hopefully the video will work here. If not, you can visit Rolling Stone to watch it. From Rolling Stone:
Master storyteller Willie Nelson revisits his past in the video for "A Horse Called Music," a hat tip to his 1989 album A Horse Called Music and a reimagining of its title track. In the clip, Nelson strides through the countryside, finds the chapel where he was married, rides through the small town center and watches an old film. This version of Wayne Carson's song is warmer than Nelson's original cover, meandering peacefully in place of the earlier version's emotional strain. Merle Haggard and Willie's son, Lukas, also join in on the track. "A Horse Called Music" is from Nelson's album Heroes, which was released in May.
Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green have had the distinct honor of being turned into muppets by those magical merriment makers over at "Sesame Street".
In the skit, "The Voice" judges listen to a contestant and all three turn around to declare he has The Voice only to find out he was actually making sounds with another part of his body and not his voice.
Good thing this was "Sesame Street" and not "Saturday Night Live" or else I could totally see this skit going in a very different and probably NSFW direction.
So Blake, Christina, Cee Lo and host Carson Daly muppets all make an appearance but where's Adam Levine's character?
I do believe I'd feel a little left out if I was Adam.
I guess "Sesame Street" just isn't ready for a tatted up rocker muppet.
Just in case you missed the big announcement yesterday, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill confirmed on Tuesday that they are indeed heading to Las Vegas for their very own run of shows at the Venetian Hotel, unfortunately, though, it's only for a limited 10-weekend run.
"Soul2Soul" at The Venetian will mark the first time in six years that McGraw and Hill have performed together in the United States. "Soul2Soul" will feature an all-new production with innovative lighting and set design technologies that were synonymous with the "Soul2Soul" concerts. The Venetian Theater will also be modified to accommodate this new production. These "Soul2Soul" concerts will include many of the no. 1 hits that have made them, both in their own right, two of the most significant entertainers of our generation.
"We are creating a show that will be completely different from what we've done before -- and might ever do again," said Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. "In arenas and stadiums, you're always faced with the challenge of finding ways to make people feel closer to the action, no matter where they might be sitting. Now everyone will be close, so it opens up all kinds of creative possibilities and we're looking forward to exploring those so that we can really give our fans something truly special."
"It's not every day that Las Vegas welcomes such stellar star power to the Strip," said John Caparella, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo & Sands Expo. "Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are country music's first couple and we are proud to have such extraordinary talent. When they hit our stage in December it will surely be the hottest ticket in town."
Tickets will go on sale August 13 and will run anywhere from $95 to $295 with VIP packages available. The couple's first concert will be December 7. Fans can read the entire press release here. Fans can also check out photos from the press conference on the Venetian's Twitter and on Vegas Deluxe's website.
So Taylor Swift is doing a live webchat on YouTube next week (the 13th, of course) with fans and says she has some "really cool news" that she wants to share.
This can only mean that she's pregnant by new beau Conor Kennedy, she's getting a Vegas show like her heroes Garth, Shania, Tim, and Faith, or she's going to tell fans all about her new album that's rumored to be coming out this fall.
I'm pretty sure the cool news has to do with her new album, but I'm still rooting for an unplanned pregnancy.
Here's all the info you need:
WHAT: Taylor Swift Live Webcast On YouTube. Taylor will be talking to fans around the world live online on August 13th. She will talk directly to fans and answer questions in real time. The webcast will also include a Google + Hangout* with fans around the world.
WHEN: Monday, August 13, 2012, at 7 p.m. EDT / 4 p.m. PDT
Just in case you missed Blake Shelton on 'Chelsea Lately' last night, check out the video above and get ready to laugh. Blake flirts a whole bunch and talks a little about his new Christmas album. Unfortunately it's just a short clip. I'll post a longer one if/when I find one.
And speaking of Blake's festive new CD, 'Cheers It’s Christmas' will hit stores October 2, 2012, and will features friends Reba McEntire and Michael Buble. It also has a very special song that Blake wrote and sang with his mom called Time for Me to Come Home.
Awwww.
And if you're wondering where the title 'Cheers It's Christmas' came from, I think Miranda Lambert had a little something to do with that. She recently tweeted:
@blakeshelton: "Cheers, It's Christmas!". Such a clever title. Someone really awesome must have thought of that name:)!
It's being reported that Randy Travis was arrested last night for a suspected DWI after being involved in a one-car accident. From TMZ:
Country singer Randy Travis was arrested last night in Texas on suspicion of DWI after crashing his car, TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Randy was arrested around 11:59PM with minor cuts and bruises. He was also booked on a "retaliation and obstruction" charge ... a felony.
Randy's car was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Other details surrounding Randy's arrest are unclear. Randy is currently still in custody.
This will make two arrests for Randy this year. I sure hope this is a wakeup call and he gets help with whatever demons he's obviously dealing with. All I can say is thank God this was a one-car crash. It could have been so much worse.
Those that want to help raise money for some great causes can buy special milk glasses for $15 from the Got Milk? campaign. Here's the full details from the website:
GOT MILK? GIVES HELPING HAND WITH GLASSES SALE
Sale to Raise $50K for State Non-Profits Promoting Health & Nutrition
The California Milk Processor Board (CMPB), the creator of GOT MILK?, announced today the creation of a four-week sale of limited edition milk glasses from Jul. 9 through Aug. 5, 2012 to benefit community-based organizations in the Golden State. THINK Together, the Bay Area Community Resources and the Central Valley Afterschool Foundation, which support afterschool and summer programs for children and their parents to make wholesome, "real" and "simple" food choices for a healthy lifestyle, will work with GOT MILK? to raise $50,000 during the sale.
The glass sale is the extension of GOT MILK?'s latest campaign, 'Science of Imitation Milk', which educates California consumers of the long list of hard-to-pronounce ingredients in imitation milk, contrasting that of the pure, simple nature of dairy milk. The limited edition glasses, which hopes to bring this message home to families while helping a good cause, come two in a set: the real milk glass shows the very short list of ingredients that can be found in dairy milk (milk and vitamin D3) in contrast to the "imitation milk" glass which has a multitude of ingredients that include soy beans, water, zinc gluconate and carrageenan, among others. During the four-week sale, the pair can be purchased on www.gotmilk.com/glasses for $15, which includes shipping and handling, with 100 percent of the purchase going directly to the community organizations to support nutrition education programs in Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco/San Jose and Fresno. The goal of the sale is to raise $10,000 for each area for a total of $50,000.
Sometimes stories are just too odd to write with a straight face.
This is one of those.
Zac Brown was in South Dakota over the weekend for the infamous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally where they apparently have a tent set up for the highly questionable sport of "Midget Bowling."
Didn't that go out in like the 90s when people threw a piss fit about it being degrading?
Everything goes at Sturgis I guess.
Anyway, Zac Brown decided to give the odd sport a try and pushed a greased up little guy down the specially designed bowling lane and into stars-do-the-darndest-things-on-their-downtime infamy.
If you're worried about how politically incorrect this seems, the little person at the center of the bowling fun talked with TMZ and insists it's all cool.
For the record, events involving the tossing or throwing of little people is generally frowned upon by the little person community ... but event organizers insist "Midget Bowling" is perfectly legit.
In fact, TMZ spoke with "Short Sleeve Sam" -- the self-described "midget" at the center of the action -- who tells us he was a ready and willing participant in the activity ... and insists Zac didn't do ANYTHING wrong.
Sam claims "midget bowling" is safer than "midget tossing" because the little people are never airborne ... "it's just a modified slip and slide."
As for Zac, Sam says he's PROUD of the "Chicken Fried" singer ... 'cause he hit a strike on his very first roll.
Well then congrats to Zac for being the top "Midget Bowler" in country music today!
KILT radio has a happy little picture of Kenny Chesney after his Brothers of the Sun Tour stop on Saturday at Reliant Park in Houston where Kenny's covering his face with his cowboy hat and the guy, presumably a body guard, driving the golf cart with Kenny in it is flipping off fans.
One of our Foley & Thunder KILT listeners was within the confines of Reliant Stadium Saturday for the Brother’s Of The Son Tour. After the encore Kenny was headed somewhere (presumably back to his tour bus) in a golf cart. We assume this gentleman with Kenny is a bodyguard.
Kenny obviously was done with the show and was in no mood to be in any photograph and the guy next to him knew it too. What we don’t know is if our listener yelled something at Kenny first or was just hoping to get a picture. Should Kenny be blamed for not wanting to be photographed backstage? Maybe he was in a bad mood, maybe he was just tired, but why cover your face after being in front of 35,000 people? Afterall he was just speeding by in a golf cart and not asked to pose.
By-the-way, the person trying to take a picture is a female listener.
Let's hope the fan who took the picture saluted the guard right back!

Miranda and Ashley rating one of Angaleena's wedding dress choices
Too much fun!
I've just finished watching a special screening of TLC's 'Say Yes to the Dress' that features Miranda Lambert helping her fellow Pistol Annie, Angaleena Presley, pick out her wedding dress and have to say the episode is a load of sassy fun.
As you may remember, Angaleena, AKA Holler Annie, ran off and got married back in May. Well before she and her new husband eloped, Angaleena took along Miranda and the third Annie, Ashley, to find a wedding dress with the help of the 'Say Yes to the Dress' crew.
From the press release:
On Friday, August 24 at 9pm ET/PT, TLC continues to heat up the end of summer with a new season of SAY YES TO THE DRESS: ATLANTA. It all starts with a special episode featuring country singer Miranda Lambert as she helps her band mate from The Pistol Annies, Angaleena, find a wedding gown. Angaleena is eloping and wants to satisfy her family and friends’ desire to see her in a wedding gown. But her entourage is not letting her off that easy as they’re sure to sing out their opinions. Season four continues with protective southern dads, divorced and opinionated parents, jealous sisters, and even a professional football cheerleading squad. SAY YES TO THE DRESS: ATLANTA is taped inside Bridals by Lori, one of the largest and busiest bridal salons in the south. The series follows a variety of particular and strong-willed southern brides and their entourages as they set out to find their perfect wedding dress.
I've never watched the show before today, but after watching this episode this morning, I have to say it's definitely worth setting your DVRs for on the 24th.
I don't quite understand the thrill people get out of spreading a false rumor that a famous person has died. Maybe it's the thrill of having people actually believe it and then watching the rumor spread like wildfire. Who knows?
What's even more strange is why would a tire company be the one spreading the rumors?
Now there's an interesting question.
On Sunday, Taylor Swift became the newest country star to be killed off by an internet hoax. There is an account on Twitter which goes by the name MTV Newss -- with two S's, not to be confused with the legitimate Twitter of MTV News with one S -- that had a tweet that said that Taylor had been found dead in her home.
Obviously not true, especially since at the time the rumor was going around Taylor was tweeting a picture of Meredith, her cat, watching the Olympics.
Well if you visit MTV Newss' Twitter feed now, the Taylor Swift tweet is gone but has been replaced with a death tweet about Selena Gomez and another about Miley Cyrus.
WTF?
The odd thing is, though, if you follow the link given in both stories, they lead to the Facebook of Hankook Tires. And yes, Hankook Tires appears to be an actual tire brand despite the fake sound of its name.
So you have to wonder, is someone in Hankook Tires' company trying to get publicity for the company by starting rumors about famous young starlets dying and then linking to their Facebook page in a shameless way, or is the person behind the fake MTV Newss Twitter account just sending people to the tire company's Facebook page as some strange joke?
It looks like there’s more label shake-up in Nashville. Lee Ann Womack is parting ways with long-time label Universal Music Group.
“[I'm] so appreciative to the wonderful MCA staff for giving me their all from my first days at Decca, through ‘I Hope You Dance,’ the awards for ‘I May Hate Myself In The Morning’ and There’s More Where That Came From, Lee Ann said in a statement obtained by CountryWeekly.com. “I am excited to see what comes next for so many people I think of as my friends, and am eager to see what life after ‘leaving home’ is like.”
No word on where the “I Hope You Dance” singer will go next.

OFFSTAGE: A Playboy Model and Country Royalty: New BFFs?
Kendra Wilkinson Baskett

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Kendra Wilkinson Baskett and Tayla Lynn. Those are two names I never thought I'd use together in a sentence. Yet, there they were -- hanging out together in Nashville. Baskett is the Kendra from the Playboy mansion reality show, The Girls Next Door, and her current series, Kendra on Top. And Lynn is the granddaughter of Loretta Lynn and part of the country group Stealing Angels. The two girls did some sightseeing and then grabbed a bite to eat at the Loveless Café near Nashville. I had the chance to ask Baskett about her trip to the country. She was there to shoot a video for a new LoCash Cowboys song (more on that later). But meeting Lynn and seeing Nashville through her eyes made Baskett love the city. "This is somewhere I could see myself going a lot. It's definitely me. It's an amazing city. I'd always ranked Indianapolis as the No. 1 nicest city in America, but now I think Nashville might be it," she told me. "I'm a cultural person. I'm not a one-sided person. I love to experience all colors of life. My husband's a country boy, and now I feel like I got to finally experience that." While she was there, Baskett made time for some boot shopping at downtown and some line-dancing at the Wildhorse Saloon.
Blake Shelton will reveal details about his upcoming holiday album during a Tuesday (Aug. 7) appearance on Chelsea Lately on the E! network. He and fellow coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green have already taped segments for the new season of NBC's The Voice premiering Sept. 10. Shelton continues his tour with shows Friday (Aug. 3) at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta, Canada, and Sunday at the Watershed Music Festival near George, Wash. The three-day festival in Washington begins Friday with appearances by Dwight Yoakam and Kix Brooks. Shelton's wife Miranda Lambert headlines Saturday on a bill that includes Tracy Lawrence, Sara Evans and Uncle Kracker. Shelton headlines Sunday following performances by Brantley Gilbert, Thompson Square and Thomas Rhett.
Let the record show that this is the third consecutive week the Zac Brown Band's Uncaged has topped the Billboard albums chart. Please feel free to cheer like maniacs.
There is, however, a brand new song champ to applaud -- Kenny Chesney's "Come Over," which takes the crown after a comparatively quick 11-week sprint.
The only new entry in the albums lineup is the self-titled Love and Theft. It bows in at No. 4.
Toby Keith's "I Like Girls That Drink Beer" is the highest-debuting of the week's four new songs, roaring in at No. 28.
The other newbies are Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" (No. 54), Kelleigh Bannen's "Sorry on the Rocks" (No. 59) -- not to be confused with Porter Wagoner's 1964 hit, "Sorrow on the Rocks" -- and Jaida Dreyer's "Confessions" (No. 60).
Rounding out the Top 5 albums cluster are Chesney's Welcome to the Fishbowl (No. 2), Luke Bryan's Tailgates & Tanlines (No. 3) and Carrie Underwood's Blown Away (No. 5).
Hey guys, sorry I've been gone. I've got a bug I can't seem to shake and I feel blah and feverish and headachy and body achy and all around guck so I haven't felt much like sitting here working.
I need to make my fortune so I can hire some lackeys to do the work for me at times like this. :0)
Anyway, I was doing a little surfing when I came across this trailer for Brad Pitt's new flick 'Killing Them Softly'. Towards the end of the trailer a voice came on that sounded very familiar. I Googled and found out that I was right, it's Johnny Cash's song The Man Comes Around.
Very cool -- and the movie looks intense and bloody and awesome.
Well boys and girls, it looks like it's finally gonna happen -- Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are following in Garth and Shania's footsteps and heading to Las Vegas.
Allegedly, of course, at least until tomorrow.
It's been rumored for quite a while now that the pair would be taking up residence (as in performing, not living) at The Venetian in Vegas, but were just waiting for the right time to announce it. The last time they had a press conference lined up, they canceled due to Tim's schedule on the Brothers of the Sun tour. Well it sounds like the time is now right because according to the Las Vegas Journal Review, The Venetian has a news conference scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, August 7, and are billing it as "the biggest musical event in the history of The Venetian."
Can you imagine being able to see Tim and Faith, Garth, and Shania all in one weekend?
Man, I'd be partying like it's 1997!
No word as to the time the press conference is taking place, but I'll keep my eyes and ears open and let you know just as soon as I know any more.
