Well this certainly isn't going to put Taylor Swift's mind at ease.
Taylor recently told Cosmopolitan UK that she has a stalker problem but that she tries to ignore it. She says, “I get nervous when I have stalker incidents. I try not to talk too much about it because it scares me. Sometimes you get a dude who kind of wants to steal you. That’s why I’m so grateful I have people looking after me, like [my bodyguard] Dennis.”
Now comes word from TMZ that a 24-year-old man was arrested at one of Taylor's Nashville homes early this morning after he jumped the fence.
TMZ reports that Jacob Kulke was arrested at 1:45 AM, telling police that he had ridden the bus from Wisconsin so that he could spend Taylor's birthday with her, which was on Thursday.
Luckily Taylor was spending her birthday in the UK with her current boyfriend Harry Styles at the time.
When police arrived, Kulke told them he was the boyfriend of the homeowner and had been in contact with someone at the home via social media. He was arrested and held on $10,000 bond.
According to TMZ, Kulke has a criminal past having been convicted of battery, disorderly conduct and drug possession in Wisconsin back in 2010.
Wow. So scary. Might be time to not only have bodyguards, but have a couple of really big and burly guard dogs to patrol the grounds of her various homes, preferably ones that have a taste for human flesh.
With a few years of public drama, speculation and tears, ‘What Have I Done’, is a promotional single from LeAnn Rimes from her 2013 album ‘Spitfire’, that has been pitched as a song covering LeAnn’s feelings towards her ex-husband, Dean Sheremet, over her extra-marital affair and the messy divorce. For those who have managed to miss the drama, LeAnn began a relationship with her now-husband Eddie Cibrian, who was also married at the time. Both divorced their respective partners after the information leaked, but it was a situation that played out very publicly, and friction continues to occur between the newly-married pair and Eddie’s ex-wife and mother of his two children, Brandi Glanville. In fact, new dramas between them hit the press to this day, so this song is hugely current.
Lyrically the song is an apology for taking advantage of a man’s love and hurting him, drawing particular parallels to LeAnn’s affair through the lines “For far too long I hid my face, I fed off your forgiving grace”. The narrative is simple and doesn’t draw on any specifics, meaning that LeAnn can also choose for the song to be fictional and the message can be transposed to any number of people’s lives and situations. While this is nice and there is plenty of room for songs such as these for people who need a song to describe their life, I feel that for a song advertised as her feelings over this very public mess that has occurred, and her regretful message to her ex-husband, I wish it were a little more open and honest about her own life. However, I don’t think she had a hand in writing it and has simply applied it to her situation, and I’m sure there’ll be plenty of songs to narrate the past few years on her new album next year. I say this not so much as wanting to feast on celebrity drama, but rather to hear the musical results of all different kinds of emotions that she must have felt in this period. After all, her last fully original album, ‘Family’, was released before any of this occurred, in 2007.
Taylor Swift and Keith Urban both managed to snag Golden Globe Award nominations.
Both singers received nominations in the Best Original Song - Motion Picture - category, Taylor Swift for Safe & Sound from "The Hunger Games" and Keith Urban for For You from "Act of Valor."
The Golden Globes are generally thought of as an indicator to who will get an Oscar nod, so it looks like Taylor and Keith may possibly be fighting head to head at this year's Oscars in February.
The Golden Globes will air Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and 5 p.m. Pacific Time on NBC.
Below is the full list of nominees in the Best Original Song category. You can find out the rest of the Golden Globe nominees by visiting here.
Subsequently, Keith's wife Nicole is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "The Paperboy" so it looks like Keith and Nicole will be walking the red carpet both as nominees in the same awards show. Very cool.

Kacey Musgraves is fairly new on the scene despite her stint on 2007’s Nashville Star, where she initially got her break. She’s recorded albums independently before and featured on the 2011 single ‘Oh, Tonight’ with Josh Abbott Band, but ‘Merry Go Round’ is her first big single, and big it is definitely set to be. It was released back in September along with its vintage-inspired nostalgic video, but its peak at #28 on the country charts just doesn’t do justice for this song. So if you didn’t already know about it, I’m here to tell you about it.
‘Merry Go Round’ is a sweet tribute to small town life with a subliminal bitter twist that, if we are to undertake a romantic notion, underlies the hearts of all those born and raised in small towns. “It ain’t what you want, it’s what you know” sums up the tale of this song, which is supported by heavy use of the banjo, nice to see in a song these days. There is also an acoustic guitar, elements of piano, something which sounds like strings put on delay, and a light shuffle-type beat on drums, if you could even say proper drums. This song is light personified, and the simple loops and riffs played by each of the instruments combine to fill a sound in space that is light, inoffensive and promotes a carefree mood and attitude. Some songs are characterized by their instruments, others are merely supported by their instruments. Here Kacey constructs a mood and a soundscape that does not pick out one single instrument, and that I will be honest and say since I have purchased a few days ago, have probably listened to in excess of fifty to sixty times. I’ve been listening on repeat in the shower, walking to university, sitting on the train, and simply around the house.
Everyone's currently releasing holiday songs to help fans get in the Christmas mood, but Jo Dee Messina has just released the best song I've heard so far ... 12 Christmas Dreads.
Jo Dee posted the new song (video below) to her blog on Babble.com and it definitely made me smile.
After cleaning up my sons toys, my husband and I reminded each other that, it’s only going to get worst. Christmas is coming which means there will be things added to the already unmanageable mess. New toys, clothes, household items, etc. That was the inspiration to this song.
My mother is in her 80′s and livess on our property. She stays up all night watching TV and every now and then, we get packages from the latest infomercial or special being run on QVC. At Christmas, these deliveries become more frequent and whatever it is, winds up under our tree.
Now that we have kids my husband and I hold our breath when gifts are being open. Though well intended, some gifts are a nightmare. Ex: The keyboard / mix station my Dad got our 3 year old. This thing is so loud and makes so many noises – Oh, and it never turns off.
All this to say, I wrote a song for this upcoming Holiday season. All the Moms out there, I know, can relate. Please enjoy the 12 “Dreads” of Christmas.
I don't know about you but I'd probably be pretty stoked to find a few of those things Jo Dee's mom bought off the T.V. under the tree, but maybe that's just me.
In 2011 Rodeowave Entertainment recording artist Phil Vassar presented his first ever Christmas album, "Noel" which held an impressive list of tradional and not so traditional songs:
1. Doesn't Feel Like Christmas Without You 2. Oh Come All Ye Faithful/ Angels We Have Heard On High 3. I Saved Christmas 4. Merry Christmas Darling 5. Big Ole Texas Christmas With Ray Benson 6. Away In A Manger With Kellys Collins 7. Santa's Gone Hollywood 8. I'll Be Home For Christmas 9. Lets Make A Little Christmas Tonight 10. What Child Is This
It wasn't till this year that Phil decided to release a video to the song entitled; "Santa's Gone Hollywood" which has brought the "Adult Only & Not For Kids" label to it by some. Seriously? Really? I have not heard this type of blasting since "I Melt" by Rascal Flatts and Trace Adkins "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" videos went wild. These videos may not be "politically correct" in the over all genre but who is to say they are or are not? I am all for fun and silliness but do these indeed cross a line on how far one can go. Or should we get a grip and be thankful there is something out there that give us a needed laugh and had no offense attached to it?
Phil has gone outside of the box before with another lighthearted fun song and video with "Bobbie With an I" which was catchy and just plain fun. Now add more half clad chics in some crazy scenes to make "Santa's Gone Hollywood" be more "risque." I will admit it was not what I was anticipating, (the Brazilian wax part was a bit much, at least for me), but I guess the video could resemble a reality of what would Santa actually do if he hit the Power Ball, or any man for that matter. When you put it in that context it is not that far from truth.
I consider Phil to be one of the most gifted songwriters among many in country music. There are many artists who do not hold a candle to his on stage presence. So now maybe you can take an insightful look into Santa going Hollywood and see if this is just what it is meant to be: Fun, Silly, & a taste of possible reality. Happy Holidays
Casey James and his band have been growing their beards out during "No Shave November" to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The boys raised an incredible $14,000 and after Casey's boss told him that he'd donate a big chunk of change to the cause if Casey would shave on stage, Casey took him up on his offer and shaved his beard off in front of fans at his Shreveport, Louisiana show on Friday.
The best part of the video above has to be the music his band plays to set the shaving mood.
After all the "sneak peeks" and hype build up to Toby Keith's newest video, "Hope on the Rocks" it finally arrived. I will admit that when I heard the title of this song I was intrigued and thought, "Wow maybe he is finally getting away from the drinking songs of late." Well the title was misleading because that is just the direction he went, but this time I was pleased with how this turned out. There were no "party girls" involved who felt the need to show their "girls" or guys all sloshed up and hoping to get with one of those party girls. It touched me since many years ago this was my life; the bartender part of it.
Toby brought a light to the world of being not only a bartender, but to being many things that are attached to that title. Friend, confidant, comedian, counselor, and a ray of light that can take one away from reality if only for a short time. In the fast times clubs you will not find this type of person who will be willing to listen to you bend their ear, but in the world of smaller local bars, or taverns as they are called in some states, this video portrayed it with excellence.
The song "Hope on the Rocks" is the title track and second single from Toby Keith's sixteenth studio album. The album "Hope on the Rocks" was released on Oct. 30 via Show Dog-Universal Music and it debuted at No. 6 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. The first single from that album was "I Like Girls That Drink Beer". For now Toby has sort of "redeemed" himself with me. I love his ballads and this is one that I can relate to and really love. The lyrics and video are good companions who match well together. Thanks Toby.
Last week Little Big Town posted a message on their Facebook announcing that due to a death in the family they had to cancel their concerts in Riverside, CA (11/28) and Los Angeles, CA (11/29). Nothing was said in that announcement about just who it was who had passed away.
Now we know which family member passed away -- Kimberly's brother-in-law Allen Schlapman.
Kimberly posted this sad message on the group's Facebook Friday:
Last Wednesday, Nov 21, my brother-in-law was killed by a drunk driver. He had come to Nashville from Virginia to visit us for Thanksgiving, which is our long-standing family tradition. He is married & has a 9 year old little girl. This is a part of life that one never imagines or plans for. It has been very difficult to accept. Allen Schlapman was an amazing father, husband, brother & son. We will miss him so much. I have been deeply touched by all your well-wishes & prayers. Thank you. God has proven himself faithful to us & has given us great peace amidst this horrible tragedy.Kimberly Schlapman
My heart goes out to Kimberly and the rest of her family.
You can view Allen's obituary and leave your condolences here.
