Boy is Twitter quick to assume stars have died.
Oh sure, famous people tend to die just as easily as the rest of us, but honestly, just because someone named Taylor died doesn't mean it was THAT Taylor or THAT one either.
Over the weekend a fan named Taylor Nesseth was found unconscious at a Warped Tour stop and was later pronounced dead.
I guess a Taylor dying at a concert automatically had people thinking it was Taylor Swift and people started tweeting #RIPTaylor and sending out well wishes to Taylor's family.
It's actually kind of funny because you can follow the tweets and see how twitter death hoaxes probably start. I have this feeling that they're not started maliciously for the most part, it's just equal parts mistake and people jumping to conclusions.
At the same time people were realizing it wasn't Taylor Swift who had died, people started panicking that it was Taylor Lautner and #RIPTaylor's started going out for him.
I'm sure the poor kids out there who are fans of both Taylors had quite the upsetting Sunday morning.
You can follow a little bit of the Twitter death mix-up over on Twitchy. It's kind of entertaining in a really sad way.
