MCA Nashville sent me Kip Moore's album about two months ago. I listened to it occasionally when it popped up on my iTunes, and always loved what I heard, but never really got into consciously choosing to listen to the album. A few weeks ago "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck" began to rise up the charts, and just spent two weeks as Number One. When I heard he was playing a free show at Carl Black Chevrolet during CMA Fest week, I knew I had to go. This past week, I've been listening to the album, getting more familiar with the music. Today, we went to the show, and I was so impressed with Kip, and so far it has been the highlight of the week. Kip reminds me of a Luke Bryan, without seeming to try too hard. He also reminds me of a Lee Brice. He wrote all but one song on the album. However, I think he is more polished than Lee in making the transition of songwriter to performer. Today's show included a 9-song set with his full band. Set list included, "Crazy One More Time," "Mary Was the Marringing Kind," "Beer Money"
"Reckless"
"Everything But You"
"Drive Me Crazy," "Hey Pretty Girl," "Somethin' 'Bout A Truck," and "Faith When I Fall." The show also included a post show meet and greet. I hope to catch Kip Moore again this week during CMA Fest. He is playing at the Opry Tuesday night, on the Riverfront and at the Lodge in Fan Alley Saturday and LP Field on Saturday night. CHECK HIM OUT! http://www.kipmoore.net/kipupallnight/
